I want to give a very heart felt special thanks to Dusty, the original Ten Dollar Man. The same regards to Frank, Mr. Rube who unquestionably has the best damm drum skin artwork ever each year. Finally to Billy Friggin' Gibbons, if Hendrix could see you play today as well your body of work as I believe he does, he would be your biggest fan of who and what you have become as arguably one of the greatest ultimate blues rock guitarist ever. Hendrix and I have that in common; we were and are your biggest fans.
I have been to many ZZ Top concerts in all parts of the states and now in Canada as well many meet and greets with the guys. After another great rockin' show at the Bell Center while at the meet and greet, Billy was so gracious to me by having personalized and signed a photo of my sister Kelly and I had from the last ZZ Top meet and greet we had gone to a couple of months back in Maine. What a great way to top off another outstanding night.
With all the great classic songs that every rocker knows that ZZ Top have created through the years, I can’t even make a top 10 list of my favorites due to the fact there are so many. With that said, one of ZZ Tops songs that gets me going and shows Billy's uniquely blues filled rhythm and leads can be found in a probably not well known song of Down Brownie. If you have it, get your headphones on and turn the volume to 9. TEXAS BLUES ROCK TO THE MAX!
For all that ZZ Top does for their fans as well as what their band represents to all the rockers like myself, Thanks Dusty, Frank, and Billy for bringing your musicianship to the world for all these decades that you have been providing that Texas style blues rock you guys create. No wonder the reason that little ol' band from Texas is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, ZZ TOP ROCKS!
Thanks to the city of Montreal, the fans that were in the row behind me where I was seated in the front row center, and Glen "The Dude" for all the hospitality that you and your city all had showed me during my visit. I'll Be Back.
