ZZ Top Set Their Sites South…
ZZ Top, now celebrating its 40th anniversary will, for the first time, be performing for audiences in South America. The band, whose original founding line-up of Billy F Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard is still very much intact, is in the process of booking South American dates in May of this coming year. They have actually announced three confirmed shows as follows:

Date City Venue
5.18.10 Santiago, Chile Movistar Arena
5.20.10 Sao Paulo, Brazil Via Funchal
5.21.10 Sao Paulo, Brazil Via Funchal

The band has been on an international tear over the course of 2009 as they made tour stops in such far-flung locations as Singapore, Serbia, Macedonia, Bulgaria as well as London's Wembley Arena. Billy Gibbons spoke of the forthcoming South American tour in remarks conveyed by the band's press officer: "We've been singing a song called 'I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide' for quite a few years. We might have to adjust the lyrics to reflect the larger world view that these upcoming dates in Chile and Brazil reflect."
